Facilitating Export Growth
STEASA facilitates export growth as follows:
- Availability of Market research for new sales potential in all Export Markets.
- Receiving the regular enquiries obtained from our website – www.steasa.com
- Providing members Opportunity to participate in Trade missions (Incl Outside Selling Missions, International Trade Fairs and Inward Investment Missions) to selected countries as regularly arranged by DTIC.
- Free access to National pavilions as arranged by the DTIC such as Wire & Tube Dusseldorf Germany and other mining shows in Africa and worldwide subject to participation approval.
- Customized market research studies for export markets individual members are interested in.
Supporting Export Development
STEASA supports export development in the following way:
- Provision of a platform to raise non-tariff export challenges and issues that need to be addressed at the highest level of government (ITAC, DTIC, SARS, SABS etc) and assistance to members on matters of export/ import rebates.
- Export monitoring of all basic and downstream -value added tubular products.
- Statistical information support (tonnage and pricing) on export opportunities to the whole of Africa, USA, Europe, Asia, Middle East, South America & Australia.
- Access to country reports on steel tube and pipe industry opportunities.
A Bridge Between Government and the Industry
STEASA facilitates export growth as follows:
- Representing the interests of the steel tube and pipe industry with government through PPP with dtic.
- Assisting the steel tube and pipe industry in addressing policy matters of localisation, designation and customs matters among many others.
- Constantly highlighting the plight and challenges of the downstream industry to government and suggesting remedial policies.
Advocacy & Lobbying
STEASA advocates and lobbies for the steel tube and pipe industry in the following ways:
- Promoting the rights of members within the industrialisation policy frameworks and ensuring their interests are protected and addressed.
- Promoting a non-collusive, transparent, inclusive and progressive environment for the steel tube and pipe fraternity.
- Assist member companies to explore all the range of options open to them in overcoming export obstacles and challenges and facilitating a beneficial course of action.
Promoting Our Members Internationally
STEASA promotes its members internationally via:
- Participation in international pavilions, conferences and plenary discussions where member companies, capacities and services are showcased.
- Leveraging on our international strategic partners to promote members.
Technical Support
STEASA supports export development in the following way:
- STEASA’S is able to render technical support to industry through its strategic relationship with the Southern African Institute of Steel Construction (SAISC) and via its technical committee of member representatives.
